Approval for a second story deck on the rear of a home at 738 6th avenue. The house is one story on the north side and two stories on the south. The proposed 8 x 14-8 deck would replace the existing guard rails in front of the set of french doors on the second floor of the south elevation. The required rear yard setback in the sr-1a zoning district is 25% of the lot depth or in this case 26. 5 feet. This project has received a special exception to have the deck encroach 5. 5 feet into the rear yard (plnhlc2017-00952.) the new deck will be supported by two 12x12 permacast fiberglass columns with recessed panels. The columns will have simple 1x4 trim at the base and cap. The deck framing, rim board and rails will be painted wood. The decking material will be tamko evergrain composite 1x6 decking.
