(6 15 2016 2:41 pm jt) emailed contractor 6 15 16 the design of the guardrail for the new stairs does not comply with historic district design guidelines for guardrails. In particular, there must be a top and bottom rail on flat with the balusters sandwiched between them, not nailed to the side. Since you are rebuilding the stairs, the new handrail guardrail must comply with the design sheets that ive attached, or another design that meets the guidelines. Please submit a new stair drawing showing a redesigned guardrail that we can replace the current drawing with.
