A team of chefs coming in to do some cooking during an event at the museum. Because they need more cooking space than is available within the museum, they want to put up an outdoor kitchen prep area under a tent on the museums south lawn (just for the chefs to work.) cooking equipment will not be closer than feet from tent. In order to set up all the equipment (the tent, stoves and convection ovens), they would need to begin setting it up the morning of tuesday (july 21, 2015) and it would be up until saturday (july 25, 2015) morning. The event itself will be on july 24, 2015 from 6:30pm-10:00pm.

Because they need more cooking space than is available within the museum, they want to put up an outdoor kitchen prep area under a tent in the south end of the museums turnaround drive way (just for chefs to work.) they will block the south entrance, but the tent would go straight up from the sidewalk to the building - leaving the rest of the drive open (north entrance as well as the handicap spots would be completely open). In order to set up all the equipment (the tent, stoves and convection ovens), they would need to begin setting it up the morning of wednesday (august 6th) and it would be up and blocking the south entrance of the turnaround until saturday (august 9th) morning. The event itself will be on august 8, 2014 from 6:30pm-10:00pm.

Grand rapids maker faire is back for a third year! The 3rd annual grand rapids mini maker faire will be held august and 21, at the grand rapids public museum and the grand valley state universitys john c. Kennedy hall of engineering. Maker faire is the greatest show & tell on earth and a celebration of the world wide maker movement! Maker faire combines the traditional science faire with innovation and engineering capitalizing on the maker movement. It is an all ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, authors, artists, students and commercial exhibitors sharing what they do, have made or what they have learned.
