After-the-fact: install stoop/steps over the right-of-way as per sketch. Date: June 24, 2016 Value: $800Permit type: Renovation (non-structural) | Permit status: Application submitted | Current use: Single unit in multi-family dwelling | Permit id: 16-20977-Rnvn | |||||
I did not realize my home is in the historic district and therefore requires a permit before any construction can begin. The steps into the side entrance of the home was made of wood and was rotten and dangerous. I therefore replaced them and added a small porch to the left of the current steps. The porch is aligned with the front entrance. I believe the installation is appropriate for the building type. This is small 3 feet wide and 8 feet long (small) so the installation does not destroy or conceal an important architectural feature of the home. The design is also compatible in size, scale and design to the building and surrounding streetscape. Its made of wood since the home is wood. Its painted the same color as the home. Open underneath to allow for storm water drainage and ventilation. Im requesting the permit for this and will make any necessary modifications to the design you see fit.
