Ddoe is installing a stormwater conveyance system on dc owned parkland near the end of 35th street se. The restoration work will consist of providing stable conveyance and water quality treatment of an unstable stream channel located within pope branch park. This involves the creation of approximately 47 linear feet of stormwater conveyance channels, using the regenerative stormwater conveyance approach which includes a series of rock structures and pools with an underlying sand seam. Native vegetation along the proposed channel will provide additional stability and habitat improvements. This project will have beneficial impacts to habitat and water quality.
