Ill be tearing off existing shingles, paper, and flashing down to the sheeting and pulling existing staples. Existing vent pipe boots will also be removed. I plan on using ridge vent so ill cut sheeting out 2inches down on either side of the ridge. The skylight will be removed and replaced as well. I will install ice and water barrier around the entire bottom edge of the house and in the valley areas and use 15lb felt paper installed with roof discs and staples for the rest of the roof. Gutter apron will be used at the eves and style d flashing up the gable ends. W style valley flashing will get installed in all valleys as well as step flashing behind siding where needed. Ill start shingling with a row of starter shingles and i figured 21 square of architectural shingles that will be installed with coil roofing nails.
