Building permit created for the purpose of code modification purposes only. The subjest building is an exsisting 5 story non sprinklered building. The building is fully tenanted, save an exsisting space(s) on the 5th floor which building fire exit stairs don not meet the 1/2 diagonal seperation required for a non sprinklerd bldg. The base building over and the work included adding smoke detection devices to the fixed common corrider which links the fire stairs and elevator lobbies on each floor. The common corrider was designed as a sone hour fire assembly.
