The grand rapids art museum would like to host a late night (9pm-midnight, 7 21 16) concert with a dj and light show. This will replace our regularly scheduled gram on the green concert for that evening. It will be located on the wege plaza and dining terrace of the museum and open to the public. In our effort to be respectful of the noise ordinance past 10:00pm, we are requesting permission from the city of grand rapids to grant approval for this one-time only format.

Seasonal mobile food vendors on wege plaza

The grand rapids art museum (gram), in partnership with wood tv8, desires to install an electronic multi-media sign on the northwest building faade of the museum facing rosa parks circle to present media art, promote upcoming events, and programs related to art, creativity, design, news, and grand rapids. This sign requires a special land use approval which gram received on april 13, 2017. A multi-media sign, permitted for a theatre complex, auditorium or arena with seating capacity of 4 persons or more (section 5. 15. 11 of the zoning ordinance), and determined by the planning director that the proposed location is equivalent to the aforementioned uses. The proposed + - 66. 67 sq. Ft. Sign is a joint venture between the gram and wood tv8. The proposed sign meets the height limit permitted by the zoning ordinance and the planning commission has approved (april 13,2017) the larger square footage. Gram intends to follow all applicable ordinances regarding light levels and content display.

This is an annual outdoor summer concert series hosted by the grand rapids art museum. There will be live music on the dining terrace with games, food trucks and a cash bar on the wege plaza.
