Complaint received: vermin problem, with rat infestation within and around house. Feces in air ventilation, nests in walls and flooring insulation. Furnace ventilation has leaks and holes in supply and return lines where rats have chewed through. Main floor and second floor apartments windows do not operate adequately to open in bedrooms for legal egress, most windows do not shut fully whereby wind and water intrudes. Electrical gfis do not operate. Both units lack proper smoke and co2 alarms. Bedroom and entry doors do not latch and have missing strike plates. Landlord installed additional furnace for bootleged basement apartment, tapping off metered gas line from another existing apartment. Basement has water intrusion with standing water, cracks and openings in foundation along flooring. Siding has missing and loose boards, missing paint. Interior of apartments have excessive moisture caused by leaking and ill terminated ventilation from laundry dryers, bathrooms and kitchen vents.
