A second floor ceiling had collapsed during the heavy rains on thursday, as the contractor didnt quite have the roof paper on that unit (h). There was also water coming in through light fixtures on the second floor of unit g. Asheville housing authority workers were on site. I had duke power pull the two meters for units h and g. In all likely-hood, h will be able to be re-set after the electrician from the housing authority has had time to pull out the wet insulation and verify no damage to wiring. Unit g will require permitted work to replace electrical and drywall. I will be in contact with bobby head of the housing authority tomorrow. I have issued a stop work order and 1 dollar fine to the roofer, who was working without a permit. However, i told him to continue setting shingles to get the building in the dry. Permit 14-9730s.
