Dc clean rivers proposes to drill twelve geotechnical borings, inc-1, inc-2, inc-3, bx-1, bx-2, bx-3, bx-4, bx-5, pz-1, pz-2, ow-1, ow-2, located in the parking lot and green space south of the kennedy center and north of i-66. The borings will be 6 inches in diameter and range between 67 and 82 feet in depth, drilled by mud rotary methods. Temporary casing will be used to install inclonometers, borehole extensometers and vibrating wire piezometers. Permanent casing will be socketed and grouted in rock before proceeding with drilling. Temporary casing will be set before proceeding with drilling. All drilling generated wastes will be drummed, and tested for proper disposal. All borings will be protected from surface water drainage and the vertical migration of contaminants and other materials down the borehole.

Dc clean rivers project proposes to drill 1 secant piles, identified as s-1 through s-130, to support excavation of the cso-21 diversion chamber and drop shaft located in the parking lot and green space south of the kennedy center and north of i-66. The secant piles will be inches in diameter 67 feet deep and drilled by auger methods. Temporary steel casing will be advanced to top of rock and grouted before continued drilling. See attached work plan and schematics for additional information. All drilling generated waste will be contained: solids and liquids, tested and properly disposed. The boring will be covered and protected from surface water drainage and the vertical migration of contaminants and other materials during construction.
