This project includes the redevelopment of a portion of the historic hechts warehouse site located on the south side of new york avenue between fenwick street and 16th street in northeast washington, dc. This plan envisions the redevelopment of a portion of the site to include the demolition of an existing warehouse building in the central portion of the site, replacing it with a new structure containing approximately 1,1 parking spaces above approximately 50,0 sf of ground floor retail. The site plans to introduce an internal site street (hecht avenue) between the remaining historic hechts warehouse (on the westernmost portion of the site) and the proposed retail/garage building which will connect new york avenue with okie street, on the south side of the site, requiring new curb cuts along new york avenue and okie street for the connection. This connection will foster more pedestrian flow through the site by delineating the current 1,1 foot super block into smaller, more walkable blo
