SCORE 59 901 E Street Nw Washington Dc National wildlife federation will convert a parking space into a "certified wildlife habitat" to educate passerby that providing habitat for wildlife in cities is not only important, but also easy! The site will provide food, water (in a container), cover, and place to raise young for wildlife, and will be "certified" as a habitat by nwf for the day. Our park(ing) day pop-up park will demonstrate what such a habitat might look like, with a collection of native plants, clean water, and signage to describe habitat elements. Materials will include mulch, native potted trees and plants, a water basin or bird bath, and informational materials on a table. All materials will be gathered on top of a tarp for fast and clean removal. The site will be enclosed by the potted plants and highly-visible orange traffic cones.
