A group of active neighbors, named the park view beautification crew, seeks to replace the current neighborhood sign at the corner of georgia avenue and irving street nw with a new, wrought iron sign. This sign is on public land in front of 3021 georgia avenue nw. It will be in the same location and face the same direction (west-northwest) as the current sign. It will be secured with cement footers installed by a licensed contractor, j&l ornamental ironworks. The sign will say "welcome to park view." the proposed sign is 7 feet tall, 6 feet wide, and will read "welcome to park view," written with 4 inch wrought iron letters. The current sign has been vandalized and the surrounding landscaping is in disrepair, creating an environment welcoming to crime and continual littering. We believe a new sign will dramatically improve the appearance of this busy corner and entrance into park view.
