The applicant is proposing to rectify an inappropriate treatment to the enclosed front porch on the subject home. The enclosed porch was reclad with a hardie like material which is inappropriate on the front faade of structures in the citys historic districts for alterations or repair. Further, the replacement windows are inappropriate due to the internal muntins. To reverse the current state of the front porch all new cladding materials will be removed, the windows will also be removed and replaced. The applicant proposes wood (cedar) shake shingle on the lower portion of the porch from grade up to the sill of the windows. Wood lap siding will complete the porch from the window sill to the soffits. The existing soffits appear to be wood and should remain. If they are in need of replacement they must be replaced with wood. New aluminum gutters are appropriate and have already been installed. The windows will be picture windows with no muntins (grid pattern) in order to maintain the app
