To repair and repoint masonry on the third and fourth floors of the madison elevation as per materials submitted 11/19/15 and stamped vcc approved 11/30/15. All mortar to be mixed using the recipe below. Mortar: no more than 1 part portland cement, to 3 parts lime, 9 parts sand, and enough water to form a workable mix. Prepackaged mixes are not permitted. The resulting mortar should range in color from white to beige but should not be grey in color. Note: ratio of portland cement not to exceed 1:12.

Mortar to be removed from joints using mortar saw or mechanical grinders with diamond blades. If using mechanical grinders, only approved if used by experienced masonry restoration specialist.
