Setbacks also apply to porches, decks, etc.; building comments detached carport. Framed roof pre-constructed by a-b tech carpentry class and moved to the site in sections. Roof is open frame construction. Girders are required for support of the roof system. Lateral bracing shall be provided. 4x4 bolted knee braces on each column are acceptable if attached to each post at a point not less than 1/3 of the post length from the top of the post, and the braces shall be angled between 45 and degrees from the horizontal. Knee braces shall be bolted to the post and the girder with one 5/8" diameter hot dipped galvanized bolt at each end of the brace.
