Repair existing retaining structure on slope for an existing single family residence. I began replacing two tiers of existing, rotted out railroad tie walls to maintain the integrity of the slope. These railroad ties were an existing structure as were the stone retaining walls above and below them. The purpose of replacing them was to improve the integrity of the slope -- not the opposite. However, a neighbor complained to the city of seattle and my work was stopped. I am asking for permission to finish the process started under the guidance of a geo-technical structural engineer -- to the standards required by the city of seattle and or king county and or wa state. I am paying out-of-pocket and at great expense to simply improve a pre-existing structure on the property.
