I am applying for a non-conforming feature which would be a permanent awning built to the standards and approval of the historical society that protrudes inches from the wall of the property over the properties carriage door. This would protrude 20" over the property line and into the court yard opposite the property as seen in the photographs. The purpose of the awning is to protect the newly added carriage doors. I am currently attempting to restore the carriage house to a historically accurate state. As can be seen in the photographs at the end of the document the property had glass bricks where the original carriage door would have been when i purchased the property. I have installed this custom made door at a cost of 9,000. However as the door is so close to the outer walls of the property, rain water is running down the walls on to door and soaking it.
