I have a building permit for a non-structural renovation of a non-conforming 3 family dwelling, with a non-conforming accessory unit. The accessory unit was leaning on my neighbors house and structurally unsound. When we attempted to remove it from the neighbors house, it fell down. We are now seeking to rebuild it very close to its former location, but following all applicable fire codes, etc. The other property is still under construction. In addition, the cost to rebuild this accessory structure is already included in the original permit cost for the entire site.
