Monitor heater ventilation and penetration

Monitor heater ventilation and penetration

15111. Their scope was to install gas piping to an existing heater. I have approved their scope of work. The heater was moved from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor and re-installed and vented by a mechanical contractor. A permit was never activated for this work. I spoke with the contractor and he said that he didnt need to activate a permit for any scope of work having to do with a monitor heater. I confirmed with joe chennault that a permit needed to be activated. The gas shall not be connected to the monitor heater until a permit has been activated and the inspection is approved. I have contacted psnc and made them aware of this. There is an existing penetration at the new vent location that needs to be sealed in accordance with the 2012 nc residential building code.
