SCORE 59 2939 Newark Street Nw Washington Dc On the far eastern side our property (square 2069, lot 823), two trees were blown down in major storm on july 28; four others were deemed unsafe by ddots urban forestry division after being struck by the falling trees. We paid for removal of all six trees and associated brush. The resulting denuded hillside required immediate remedial treatment to retain the hillside and stop dirt rocks from falling into newark street. We are proposing with this application to complete our rebuilding of the very old and ineffective 20-foot long extension of our feet of retaining walls. This rebuilt wall, like the very old wall, will be 74" from the curb and in the same plane as the feet of adjacent retaining walls. It will be 42" high.
